Some day far off in the future it will come to light that BP could have capped the oil well with in a week of the oil spill. Now you are asking yourself, why they wouldn’t they do that? Well they have spent millions of dollars on an oil derrick that obviously was sitting on an enormous amount of oil. Just capping the oil well closes it for generations and cost BP billions of dollars so its better to let it flow.

One of the first things BP wanted to do was drill back in the well to relieve pressure.  Stating that drilling relief wells was the best option, although it wouldn’t be done until August. By drilling back into the well it basically reopens and they don’t have to close down pumping.

Sure they get a little bad press and it will cost them some money in fines, restitution and a name change, but in the end they get what they wanted the whole time the well stays open. Some guy in the back of a board room probably said “one or two hurricanes and this little bit sweet oil will be just a memory”

Now I know what you are thinking this guy is nuts, but I could put 5 kindergartners in a room with a box of crayons and tell them to solve this problem before nap time.

Peace out MajorXero!
